Hey, Hey, Hey beloved. Welcome back! This is your holistic lifestyle, strategist and podcast host Heidi Bramm. I’m excited to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in! In the last episode, I shared a little bit about me and my story. And in this episode, I wanted to offer you a little more about my podcasts’ mission and why I’m passionate about it. I thought it would be fun to give you a little behind the scenes action in a real-time discovery moment with my podcast coach where she helps me go through the process of taking my current branding, which honestly wasn’t much and keeps evolving, and turn it into what you are seeing and experiencing right now today.
Almost a decade ago, I found myself in a position where I was having to decide between either working a full 40 hours a week, or creating my own flexible hours and working to start my own health and wellness business. My priority was my family and being there for the moments that mattered. I really loved my job at the natural health clinic I worked at, but I didn’t want to stretch to a longer workday. I didn’t love the idea of a 9-6 that told me when I could and couldn’t see my family, take a vacation, or just pause to be in the moments of life.
Can you relate to that beloved? You know you’re limited by your day-to-day job, but you can’t seem to see how you could afford not to work. So I was kind of in this, “do I, or don’t I?” And making that decision. Of course, as you know, I chose to jump in with a “leap first and figure it out as I go” mentality. Which was fun to co-create with God and humbling as I sort of fumbled my way through. It was all God. But I honestly, you know, I said, yes, and kind of accidentally found myself in this leadership role, building this team of passionate, natural health advocates. I learned a lot of lessons. I had a great time just going with the flow and still saying yes, week after week, month after month, year after year. In the beginning, there was this transition period of about three months where I was still working at the clinic while also launching building, leading and teaching others about the power of natural solutions. I knew that when I was working 60 plus hours a week, that it was time for me to choose one or the other!
I became more and more impressed as I started to use the essential oils on my husband and my girls, and with all of the positive effects they were having on my friends and the patients at the clinic. And so I decided to leave my position at the clinic in order to serve the world in a bigger way, through this opportunity to educate and empower moms and help them revolutionize the way they take care of their families at home. I got to work from home, create my own schedule, increase my own income. And within six months I replaced my weekly income at the clinic. Since then, and by the grace and provision of God, it’s multiplied three to four times that of my previous income and has afforded us much flexibility and freedom in many areas of our life. Like now I’m a homeschooling mom!
I wouldn’t have been able to do that before! But I know now that leaping first was a season and now I’m finding myself in a place where details and intentionality and being more deliberate seem to matter more than my yes. And my yes is still important, as we’re called to obey, but I feel more like I’m in this wilderness season, trusting God for the daily manna and instruction, and obeying each step with him as they build upon each other. It’s an exciting place to be! And not without questions at times, which is why I’m so grateful for my coach, who was able to walk me through this process of becoming and creating for all of you and taking that next best step for those I’m called to serve. I am new to podcasting obviously, and I’m also new to learning to be more vulnerable publicly outside of just my small members’ group that’s been growing since 2012. So I’m considering this great practice in transparency, authenticity, and vulnerability in sharing this behind-the-scenes moment with all of you!
This is just the beginning and it will evolve as I get to know my beloved audience better! I don’t have everything figured out. I’m just here to serve you! I’m excited to see where God takes us and even more excited to keep co-creating into the next decade and beyond!
Clarity Call Transcript: Hello. Hi. How are you? Good. How’s it going, Heidi? It’s going good. I’m so excited to chat with you this morning. Me too. I’ve been waiting. Let’s do this. Clarity please! Yes, absolutely! So talk to me about what you want to accomplish today. I definitely would like clarity on my, who, who I meant to serve. Everything! I feel like I’m kind of starting from scratch, which has been a challenge for me because even though I still want to use the product from my MLM, I always seem to start there as my branding and it just, doesn’t fit as the main thing.Yeah. Good. So what is your MLM? It’s oils.
And how deep are you into that? Eight years. It’s been my life for eight years. It’s where I’ve done all of my growing in my leadership and my family growth. And I love helping people in that way, which is why when it comes to my product and what I offer, it always goes to something that has those products interwoven into it. And so that’s where I just kind of get stuck. Because I don’t really have anything of my own. So I’m thinking, okay, if you were to remove that piece completely and just sit with Heidi here, what do I have to offer? There’s always a way to pull in a product most often, especially something like oils, you know, like that’s an easy thing to infuse! So let’s just get away from that.
Let’s start with, who are you at the core? What are the passions that you have? If the passions were missing, you wouldn’t be you – what are those?
In what areas do you find yourself challenging them? A lot of it is mindset and again, going against the grain, going against mainstream. My story, as a young mom, my daughter had a reaction to vaccines. And so just kind of questioning that, like, “do we have to do this? I always thought that I had to do this. I’m doing what I’m told to be doing but is that the best thing for us?”You know, I’m kinda like, well, some rules are meant to be broken. Let’s look at that. Good. What else? I assume that also like toxins yeah? Food, what we put in on and around us. Is that what people seem to be coming to you for, is that what you find yourself really focused on passionately often? Yes. It’s where I like to help younger moms kind of just starting out to question, “is this really the best route for my family? Do I really have to do it? They’re saying that I should do it but every bit of my body is like saying this doesn’t feel right. But I’m just doing it anyway, because I feel like that’s what I’m being told to do.”
So just kind of listening to that inner voice, helping people realize they have a choice. Not that I’m trying to convince them of anything, but just helping them recognize they have the power to take back control of their health and their family. You have a choice, even though everybody’s telling you, you don’t, you actually do. Okay. So, then let me ask you this. When you do a brand and a platform that is controversial, which is really hard, right? Because I think when we’re called to be something we have to put aside the judgment of the world, right? We have to cast aside, other people condemning us for us to do God’s work. And if you feel that you are being called to be this voice and this beacon of light to these young moms, then that’s your responsibility. Now there’s a nice, easy, floaty way that maybe we could create it. Where, you can pose things as questions. “I’m posing the question today. Look, I’m not saying that any of this is right or wrong for you. All I’m doing is sharing my story, posing questions to you. And then I’m going to bring up research from both sides. I want you guys to be the thought leaders. I want you to stop doing what people say and start thinking and praying and doing the research to see what is right for you. There’s no right or wrong way here. It’s your way.”
Maybe that can be this whole mantra of your brand is like, “how do these young moms pave their own way?” How does she make educated decisions and not be a yes, man? A yes Mom! Yeah. So how do you feel? Because I mean, if you’re going to go here, which is what I think I’m hearing you say, you gotta be, you gotta put on the armor of God, right? Because you are not everyone is going to like it as you start to speak truth. Also, we attract the right people, you know, like you’re going to be attracting your people. It doesn’t mean I don’t sometimes get shade. We all do. I think being this beacon, you are going to pose some of these leading questions that might be triggering for people, but that’s the point.
You want them to be triggering so that they do the research, right? Yeah. Because when people come to me with health stuff, especially moms of kids, a lot of damage has been done that is hard to even touch. I mean, you can help in some ways, but I would love to be at the beginning of that before the damage is even done. Yeah. I love it. Good. So, okay. I’m super clear on what the concepts would be, but we can map out further those brand pillars, but let’s start at the very top. Healthy whole mom… So we’re going to focus on young moms, right? The entire goal here is to help these young moms get control over the health and wellness of herself and her family. What else? What else are we getting her? What else does she need? She’s kind of confused. What’s right. What’s not. She’s in research mode. She’s paralyzed by all the Google research. Well, which one’s right for me? She’s leaning towards becoming crunchy, right? She’s looking at holistic options probably, but she’s confused. Yes. So this is where I have a lot of confusion myself.
Young moms – so just entering motherhood, identity. How to show up strong in her womanhood and her motherhood. It can be lonely and isolating so there is that whole sisterhood piece too.I love it. Good. See, so we have so many more pillars being born right now. Also, there’s that relationship component, you know what happens now in your marriage? You’re now a mom. You also lack confidence in her body. Yeah. The hormones, the mindset that it goes with being a new mom. All right. I mean, all of that, that you just told me, healthy whole mom, it is that, it’s all-encompassing. Because you’re saying she’s whole, maybe in Christ, in her faith, in her mindset, she feels purposeful. She feels in control. All of that for me is under that word whole. And then healthy, well, that’s where you can talk about the toxins and posing questions about vaccination or which type of doctors are right. Organic versus non, like the crunchy topics, which are super fun. Is there anything missing from that?
How do you feel about healthy whole mom? Well, it’s interesting. I’ve had that brand for two years, but I don’t feel like I’ve grown into it because all I did was attach it to my MLM. Okay. And when I look at that, I’m like, “well, I’m not a healthy whole mom yet.” So this process of becoming I’ve had prophetic words like crowned with beauty and unveiling beauty, and like this process of becoming. I do like healthy whole mom. I’m just not sure if it speaks to that we’re always in this process, is it almost like you’ve got it together?
Read me that verse again, if you would? Beloved. So that’s like the, the beauty, like the beloved part, right? Concerning all things. I pray you to prosper and to be in good health, just as your soul also prospers. And I did a word study on these words. So beloved is divinely loved. It’s personally experiencing, God’s love throughout this process of becoming this healthy whole mom. Yeah. Concerning = all around. Every side, all-encompassing full, all bases are covered left, right. And then above all is the total picture. It’s, it’s actually two parts. It’s one piece at a time, but then it’s also focusing on the parts of making up the whole, like “here we worked on these individual things, these individual parts, which eventually become this healthy whole mom.”
Yeah. And then of course, you know, a prosperous journey and then to be in good health, to be sound, healthy. This is really interesting – uncorrupted, pure. As they’re working on becoming that pure bride for Christ, but healthy and working well, holistically with all parts working together. And then your soul is that breath of life, that human soul, the seat of our affections and our emotions and our will and our distinct identity or unique personhood, our individual personality. And so that scripture is really all-encompassing of healthy whole mom, I just don’t know what it is that when I look at healthy home on my brain says, “but I’m not there yet.” Yeah. No. And as you just so eloquently laid out the deeper meaning of that verse and like who she is at the root is so much bigger than surface words, like healthy whole mom.
To me, I’m like that, that’s surface, and where you just went took me on an emotional journey of being like Holy Spirit chills. Like yes. Yeah, yeah! What I wrote down, what I heard that really stuck out for me was Covered Beloved. Those are the two words that as you were going through, that’s covered beloved or becoming beloved. But I think it’s covered beloved because you’re not becoming, you are beloved, like you are covered. And I know that that’s elusive, which is why we can add a super sticky tagline to it but that whole premise is it’s like,
Yeah. Cause I love that. It’s so much deeper and it’s so much, that’s more meaningful to you too, because it pulls from your verse for you.Yes, it does. Okay. Let’s see. And of course, we have no podcast. Really? Yes. Woo. Yes. And that’s so cool too. Cause it’s almost a play on words as well. This idea of like, you’re, calling them, hello, my Beloved’s. It can be your play, your name, but also this concept of being beloved of being beauty, the beauty of who God created you to be. It’s like this double meaning. Yeah. I love it. Yay. Okay. Well, I’ll get you this replay and then the notes by the end of the day today, and I’m just excited to see God work through you. I’m excited to see your show come to life. Keep me posted. And I’ll just be cheering for you!
